Play the proximity cardThe call for tenders was launched Friday

Long glamorous sulphurous reputation, boycotted by some orders or unions of health professionals, care networks seem today much more rating. In May 2009, AXA launched Itelis, its platform of services dedicated to the prevention and management of networks, optical and hearing aid. Last January, Groupama and Pro BTP ushered Sévéane, a platform dedicated to the steering of the relationships with health professionals. Today, it is in the round of mutual harmony, the first mutual pole French, and of Malakoff Médéric group joint social protection, to announce the creation of a vast network of opticians.

The objective of the new time is clear: it is of "meet the need of guidance in the health care system and confine the rest to charge the 6 million of persons protected by the two groups", explains Guillaume Sarkozy, Delegate General of Malakoff Médéric. "Our members expect advising in the best possible rates, but quality also", complete François Venturini, CEO of harmony mutuals, Prévadiès, harmony mutuality, mutual Existence and mutual National Aviation Marine. This network will rely on the tools developed by Viamedis, the first operator of paying third party, which Malakoff Médéric is a shareholder.

Known as Kalivia, this network is intended to be operational as of May 15 next to the Malakoff Médéric, and customers in January 2011 for the members of harmony. It presents the particularity of being an "open" network not limited by any numerus clausus. Any optician who meet the requirements qualitative and tariff, defined in a very strict quality Charter, will be accepted and approved Kalivia, for a period of two and a half years. "We are not here to strangle the opticians, but to seek a fair price in a logical partnership", says François Venturini.

Play the proximity card

The call for tenders was launched Friday. The two partners hope to attract "between a quarter and a third" of 11.500 opticians in France, or 3,000 to 3,500 stores, to play the proximity card. "Our commitment is to have a registered optician Kalivia in each city or each year, within a radius of 20 kilometres," explains Guillaume Sarkozy.

With 4 million people protected health side harmony, 2 million side Malakoff Médéric, the two partners felt not to have, alone, sufficient critical size. With Kalivia, Malakoff Médéric should benefit its insureds for a minimum 30 economy on average on the glasses. The specification provides for a reduction of at least 10 on frames. Harmony mutuals, for its part, refers to an economy of "25 to 30 " for members attending liberal opticians, and a little less for those attending the mutualistic opticians network, in which the prices are lower.

The process initiated with the opticians is designed to be declined before the end of the year on the market of the hearing aid, and in the dental field in 2011. At the same time, the two groups reflect - separately - to the potential implications for their offers of supplementary health, the idea being that the existence of the network materializes in easy to understand customer competitive advantages. "This can translate into bonuses for members who agree to go to the network," illustrates François Venturini. Historically this collective insurance, Malakoff Médéric will soon launch a health coverage individual low-priced, for those who benefit from the complementary health aid. "By including the assistance of the State, the offer should cost 9 euros per month to a young person under 25 years old, and 25 euros beyond", said Guillaume Sarkozy. It will rely on "offer clever" (glasses frame at low prices) which registered optician Kalivia must necessarily have.
